Hemp Victory Garden Review

Hooray for hemp! Hemp Victory Garden is a nostalgic brand that celebrates the history of cannabis in America, specifically the fighting spirit behind production efforts during WWII. We love their enthusiasm, and their CBD product line isn’t too shabby, with over 20 options that cater to most genres of cannabidiol enthusiasts. If Hemp Victory Garden can get on board with testing protocols and charitable giving, they’ll really have something to celebrate.

Hemp Victory Garden has a great backstory behind their namesake. They draw from two different campaigns launched by the U.S. government during WWII. The first, the Hemp for Victory campaign, sought to encourage industrial hemp production (previously illegal) to provide American troops with rope, clothing, and other necessities. The second, Victory Gardens, involved the planting of communal produce in yards and parks to help address the food shortage and take the burden off commercial producers.

Thus, Hemp Victory Garden maintains the battle cry for legal hemp production and community involvement in the 21st century as a proud purveyor of CBD oil products. They source their industrial hemp domestically, and utilize both ethanol and CO2 extraction methods. Quality? Check and check.

Hemp Victory Garden offers a lucrative wholesale program, and their online CBD selection contains a nice variety of full spectrum offerings that are reasonably priced. Overall, we like the product line, but Hemp Victory Garden is one of those brands that throws around the word ‘organic’ a lot without the certified ingredients to back it up. Their CBD hash is indeed USDA certified organic, but for the rest of the line, take the term with a grain of salt.

• CBD gummies – There’s an interesting division here between two gummy products. The first, simply labelled ‘gummies,’ is a CBD edible we can totally get behind. These gummies have natural fruit juice for color, all-natural flavors, and organic cane sugar and honey instead of high fructose corn syrup. The second product, ‘CBD-infused gummies,’ has the stuff we DON’T like to see: artificial colors and flavors, corn syrup, and titanium dioxide. So, if you’re thinking about getting CBD edibles from HVG, we highly recommend the first option.

• CBD topicals – The HVG CBD topical line is relatively clean, and we give it an overall grade of B+ (lack of safety tests is a factor here). Most of the options have all-natural ingredients, the marked exception being the CBD face lotion which contains stearic acid, a form of polysorbates. Some of the products also include DMSO, an ingredient we don’t love but that technically can be argued as natural.

Hemp Victory Garden has yet to post any tests for potency or contaminants, and they don’t mention conducting them at all. However, they have a page called ‘Lab Report’ apparently coming soon. Hopefully, this is the case.

Bottom Line – Hemp Victory Gardens uses quality cannabidiol in their CBD product line, and while they use a few artificial ingredients, many are natural. Their nostalgic branding is infectious, and we recommend they get on top of comprehensive testing as a next step.
